Well well well…

It looks like we’re done here. We’ll finally announce the Tankmas Animation Jam 2024 winners right now. All of these animations were very wonderful and had their own unique charm to them. We really appreciate the participant’s time and effort for this jam. In total, we had a total of 10 submissions. That’s a LOTT more than I expected. You guys really made my year! :] 

@MrShmoods and I have judged all of the submission now and now we have our Top 3 winners for the jam.

now with that out of the way, let’s get on to the TOP 3 SUBMISSIONNNSSSS!! At first we have…

3RD PLACE - $25

This animation made by @QueenBoo had good story telling. The description really warmed our hearts, “How dare she try to win our favor with those damn puppy eyes. It’s working though” - Shmoods 

Jokes aside, we really liked the work you put onto this project. We really like the gag reel at the end as well and we really like the Poster made by @BonGuy as you can tell by the playlist, we love it so much, we made it the thumbnail… though -100 points for the among us piss in the snow T^T

2ND PLACE - $50

For @MayaLaCookie ‘s animation, It was a surprisingly creative utilization of the characters. Mr. PeanutBudder being a plushie (we love it so much, we want a plush of him right now. Get to work on it before I send gooble to your house!! >:’] ) as well as the PeanutBudder album cover which was hilarious lmao. Durooge being depicted as someone cosplaying as him in the background. I really liked how it all comes together at the end with the cassette tape. Overall, it has a very good aesthetic with the hybrid mixed media style! Love to see more stuff from the Blam Sisters :D

1ST PLACE - $100

As the title expresses, this WAS an unexpected surprise to see. @VrdOficial did an incredible job with his submission. It’s clearly an animatic, but the usage of it made it feel like pages off of a storybook with its monochromatic color scheme. You really got a lot of mileage out of very few frames, lots of dynamic stills, and that takes a lot of skill. The detailing in the backgrounds were really fun and seeing small little details like the poster of Durooge and the evil smoke stacks polluting the atmosphere. The story is very short and sweet, but very effective. We really enjoyed the usage of the two characters. Really something Dr. Seuss like about the animation and we love it! We’d like to see this continue on cuz the world is really cozy. Congratulations!

Originally, Top 3 would’ve premiered on Tankmas 2024, but after some consideration, ALL submissions to the jam will be premiering on the Tankmas Advent 2024 as a movie premiere on the 28th of December which is National Short Film Day. Here’s a playlist featuring all of the TANKMAS ANIMATION JAM submissions if you’d like to watch them all in a row. This was a very exciting event to host. I hope y’all stick around for the next animation jam I’m gonna host early next year, so keep an eye out for that.
